Hi friends and fans of Cinapse. We’re excited to announce that we’re hitting our 2nd anniversary on Saturday, Feb. 28th!
In celebration of this 2-year milestone, we’re hosting a killer 35mm double feature screening of The Warriors and Escape From New York (two of our all-time favorites) in Austin on Feb. 28th which we’re calling NYC Is Effed. You can see all the details on the sweet flyer below. If you are an Austinite, we’d love if you’d consider buying a ticket, getting a group together to attend, or just spreading the word around town. Tickets are $16 and available here!
Cinapse began in February of 2013 and we’ve since grown into a notable film outlet focused on discussion, discovery, and insightful, in-depth writing. We cover classics, blockbusters, indie and mainstream cinema with in-depth written reviews, and we’ve introduced podcast and video reviews into the mix recently as well! These days we’re posting 3–5 substantial posts per day from a staff of over 20 regular writers and will be hitting 1400 posts right around the 2 year mark. Each week we review the latest theatrical offerings, as well as home video and TV highlights. We’ve also got some fantastic original columns such as Two Cents (a weekly film club), The Archivist (covering films found in the Warner Archive), and a Cinapse Pick Of The Week. There’s also The Action/Adventure Section in which action cinema deep cuts are explored, Running On Stream which highlights streaming options across several platforms, and COBRA Club, which highlights each week’s home video releases. Cinapse plans to continue celebrating cinema, striving for transparency in our writing, unearthing the best of undiscovered and underappreciated cinema, and bringing as much insight as possible to our discussions of all films great or small.
Thanks for your support of Cinapse over the years and we hope to see you soon at NYC Is Effed, around the site, or on our Facebook or Twitter feeds!
