Podcast: AMERICAN NINJA 1–3 with John Ary

Hey Cinapsians!

This post is kind of a special one. Near and dear to my heart. Since the earliest days of Cinapse, I’ve dreamed about trying to get an official podcast off the ground. We’ve got some excellent podcasts featured here on Cinapse, including Jordan Troublefield’s Riding In Cars With Boy(s) and Liam O’Donnell’s Cinepunx. But those guys are the creative masterminds behind those podcasts. There has yet to be a Cinapse-branded podcast… until now! Sort of.

It turns out podcasts take a ton of time to pull off. Even getting a pilot recorded and edited and hosted and presented to you right here and now has taken all sorts of work involving learning curves and what not. And, more than likely, it is going to remain in pilot form for the time being. I’ve embarked on that eternal journey called parenthood in the time since this was recorded, and for now, there just isn’t time to use the momentum from this episode and keep churning them out.

That said, this is a pilot I’m very proud of, and thanks to John Ary guesting with me and editing the content together, I think you’ll really enjoy listening to us gab about ninja movies generally (we’re pretty knowledgable on the subject) and American Ninja movies specifically. Also a big thanks to friend of the site and composer Joel St. Julien for his awesome music used in the episode.

We’ll put this pilot out there into the world and see what you Cinapsoids think about it. Please do let us know. Is it too long? Too short? Is my voice unacceptably similar to Charlie Day’s? Would you like to hear more of these? What kind of format would you like to listen to? Any feedback is welcome.

And I’m Out.
