Cinapse Weekly Roundup — Third Week of February, 2015

CINAPSE Weekly Roundup — February 21st, 2015

Deluged by the plethora of awesome content the Cinapse family provides each week? Worried you missed something? Never fear, each Saturday our Weekly Roundup will show you a little glimpse of the week’s highlights, our most popular posts, new releases, column updates and anything that has provoked a response from internet trolls on up to insightful feedback and discussion.

THEATRICAL RELEASESSmutty, vulgar humor dominates this week’s theatrical release with a return to the temporal shenanigans of the Hot Tub Time Machine crew, minus Cusack, in HTTM2. An affair as filthy as a hot tub in a substandard Vegas motel, but not without its ability to draw a laugh. Check out John’s video review or my review where I use those old fashioned word things.

FEATURESThe Action/Adventure section returns, taking a look at the Gene Hackman/Dan Ackroyd vehicle Loose Cannons. Yes, apparently this is a pairing that has happened.

The Archivist is back taking a look at a pair of films from the Warner Archive, The Clan of the Cave Bear and Greystoke.

COLUMNSThe Two Cents crew and esteemed guests throw down with their contrasting thoughts on this week’s selection, The Station Agent, a film that shows and early performance by the wonderful Tyrion Lannister…ahem, Peter Dinklage.

Pick of the Week is the utterly bizarre looking Freaked, selected by our own Ryan.

TV RECAPOur he said/she said Girls recap is here! I’m stockpiling these as Time Warner screwed up my cable and I’m 3 weeks behind. Curse you TWC.

HOME VIDEO RELEASESPlenty on offer in home video release this week from Asian gangster film No Tears for the Dead, Roger Ebert documentary Life Itself, the Tommy Lee Jones project The Homesman, HBO Phenomenon Game of Thrones Season 4, the reviewer-flummoxing Le Pont Du Nord, horror film Black Sunday, and a late review of last week’s release of the magnificent Force Majeure.

“Nothing can take the sting off the world’s economic problems like watching millionaires present each other golden statues.”
