Unboxing AL ADAMSON: THE MASTERPIECE COLLECTION

A pictorial grand tour of Severin’s sprawling 14-disc, 32-film box set celebrating the cult filmmaker

From Severin Films comes Al Adamson: The Masterpiece Collection, a career-spanning 32-film box set which features not only the director’s body of work, but also the new documentary Blood & Flesh: The Reel Life & Ghastly Death of Al Adamson.

Also packed into the box is a full color book weighing in a 120 pages (126 with covers), The Blood and Flesh Files by Bill Ackerman & Amanda Reyes. The book covers production notes and Blu-ray transfer information on all of the films in the set, illustrated with photos, posters and ad art throughout.

Blu-ray sets this sprawling (32 films! 14 discs!) are rare, especially for fringe/exploitation artists like Adamson. This isn’t a mega-franchise like Harry Potter or James Bond, but a labor of love celebrating a 70s filmmaker who has been largely uncelebrated. Let’s dive in!
